Akito not so pudgy!

When the two black cats moved in - they enjoyed exploring all the levels around the house - including leaping up to the top of the armoires in the living room. Pandora wasn't the happiest about having to share, but 'oh well'.

As Akito's appetite became endless - his new profile "land locked" him.

Controlling one cat's weight when the others eat more healthily is pretty complicated. It looks however that the humans have managed some positive changes. Yeah, the humans win one!

The proof? He's gotten back into leaping up there. Twice now in a week. The first time - the other two cats were positively stunned. I swear their jaws dropped open.

Santa Claus Melon Season!

6.6.10
At Whole Foods today - as I went to get some hunk of water melon - saw them! Yeah! It's a too short season, but that could make me appreciate them more. Also, got some of the local strawbs - and they are amazingly flavorful. Wonderful! Ym.

Crazy Smart Geese - Observation #2

June 4, 2010 (about 20 minutes later, still on the way home - still from my phone)

well, friend - I would be very very afraid if geese hate you. Be very careful. I'm now working on assumptions that they are smart and have a way of communicating with each other - and of sharing observations. I have a new "smart geese" observation, from my ride home.

I was near the prison (near the Garden - sorta between Spaulding Rehab and the Museum of Science Bridge) - on the road by the Charles there. That's where I was during the worst of the power storm. During the burst of lightening strikes -nearby- the flurry of movement from a few geese caught my eye - and I wondered if maybe one had been hit. When traffic crawled a bit further on - I looked around the park that's there - for geese. First, I saw none (the few had been jumping around under the trees) - then I saw a whole whole lot. they had moved off the grass onto the paved paths - none were now under the trees - and there were so many there now - I'm guessing they had all leaped out of the river onto the land.

Maybe if you started worshiping them as gods?

Crazy Geese - Observation 1

June 4, 2010 (Original Date - sent as email - yes, from my phone)
Just watched 3 geese take advantage of one red light to "jay walk"
across a 3 street-intersection at the Landmark intersection. The intersection was majorly congested as an afternoon Sox game had just let out. They crossed just the same as college kids. Crazy.
